The teen girl magazine More! is closing. Is this another indicator of the decline in an old-fashioned format in the face of electronic competition? Maybe, but that’s not the whole story; general lifestyle magazines, particularly those aimed at teenagers, aren’t always strong in the current media climate but some magazines are on the increase in print – usually those catering for a specific interest. Miss Vogue, for example, is about to launch, and rather than offering a wide ranging ‘lifestyle’ offering, it is more focused on teenagers and fashion (mostly very expensive fashion, but then it is Vogue.
