Tablets+Apps Better for Magazines?

Magazines have never really got on well in an online world. You can probably guess why: webpages are often template driven providers of content, not fully designed, packages of content. Adverts are a part of the joy of magazines, online they’re filtered either by eyes or software to block them. Web versions of magazines were never going to make any money, it seemed.

Maybe apps and the tablet computer – realistically the iPad mostly – will mean magazine publishers can embrace a digital future. The Telegraph has a useful article on lads’ mags and the iPad – read it if you’re studying the magazine industry.
