Progress with Enable Youth Films

We’re making good progress with our Enable Youth commission. Today George Winter worked on editing some of the footage from the summer. Oscar Bentley and Daniel Martin have produced a shooting script and today were doing some test shots.

Farndon Fields Primary

In the past academic year the media and film department worked with Farndon Fields Primary School to create a promotional video for Market Harborough. Students planned, shot, composed music and made editing decisions. The new MacBooks that we were able to buy during the year helped tremendously when it came to finishing the project.

We were very impressed with the creativity and hard work of the students involved.

Little Bowden Primary

The media and film department worked with a great set of students from Little Bowden Primary School in the summer term. The new resources made the day much more efficient and successful than in the past. Here are some images and the film they made at the end – all of it was planned, shot and edited in a day.

Working for Enable Youth

We are currently working to create some short inspirational films for Enable Youth, an organisation that aims to improve what is available for young people in the Harborough district.

When we’ve finished you can watch them but until then here are some images from our summer filmmaking days.

Any students wanting to join in – helping to develop filmmaking skills as well as supporting a worthy cause – should watch out for bulletin notices and come along.

Meeting the charities

Once again our year 12 students are working with local charities to produce advertising campaigns for their coursework. We very much appreciate the input of the charities. Those involved are: Rainbows, CAIRS, Hope Against Cancer, Farm Crisis Network, Market Harborough & Bowden’s Trust, Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation and Self-Unlimited. Here are some photographs from the first meeting the students have had with the charities’ representatives.

Why not have a look at the finished charity campaigns from last year?

Trailers in a day

We recently visited Welland Park Community College, one of our feeder high schools, and made film trailers in a day. Four RSA students were there as well and their assistance was very much appreciated. Here are some photos and the six trailers, which look good considering they were researched, planned, shot and edited in about 5 hours.
