The Andrew Greene Foundation

Recently, Jane Holden of the Andrew Grene Foundation gave a presentation to Year 12 Media Studies students about her work. The charity focuses on providing education and financial support to the people of Haiti. In 2010, Haiti suffered an enormous earthquake which killed around 160,000 people, including over 100 aid workers with the U.N. The Andrew Grene Foundation was set up to honour the work of one of the victims. Jane showed us three films which she helped to make on location in Haiti and discussed the impact of these with our students. The importance of following a brief, planning a storyboard and ensuring continuity were some of the issues raised and discussed.

As our students are meeting the representatives from local charities just a few days afterwards, this presentation was very helpful and informative. As a thanks, the CAIRS committee have been asked to include The Andrew Greene Foundation on their list of elected charities.
